OJAS is Devon Turnbull’s audio practice. Horn loudspeakers, valve electronics and collaborations with specialist builders connect its work to the traditions of cinema and Japanese listening rooms.
Design & approach
OJAS is Devon Turnbull’s audio practice, developed alongside his work in visual design. Its stated interests include efficient loudspeakers and low-powered valve amplifiers. The Klipsch collaboration shows that approach in a production design: the kO-R2 combines a vented 15-inch woofer cabinet with an exposed cast-aluminium horn, built by Klipsch in Hope, Arkansas.

OJAS supplied the horn system at Siwilai Sound Club. The build brings together Werner Jagusch crossovers and Altec 288C-type compression drivers made for OJAS by Bill Hanuschak.
