Cookies & media choices
Social media is enabled automatically unless you switch it off. Analytics is off until you enable it. You can browse profiles, filter the catalogue, use the local map and submit information with both switched off.
Necessary storage
atlas-consent-v1 — local storage containing your media setting, analytics choice, policy version and choice date. Analytics permission expires after 180 days. The media setting stays until changed or browser site data is cleared; this includes media opt-outs saved before automatic loading was introduced. makerDirectory — session storage remembering your directory return location. Neither is an advertising identifier. Hosting or security infrastructure may also use necessary technologies to deliver the site.
Embedded media — optional
Nearby Instagram posts and YouTube thumbnails can load automatically, and selected directory highlights may load in the background. YouTube and SoundCloud players load when you press play. If you disable embedded media, provider scripts, thumbnails, players and background connections stay blocked. Ordinary Instagram account links do not load a feed. Audio/video playback requires interaction. Provider cookies and storage vary by service, account and browser; consult Meta’s policy, Google’s policy and SoundCloud’s policy.
Analytics — optional
Only activity after an explicit analytics opt-in is aggregated, without analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. Continuing past the social-media notice does not turn analytics on. Search text and contact messages are excluded. Browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep analytics off.
Advertising / affiliate tracking
There are no on-site advertising scripts to enable today. Clicking an external affiliate link leaves the Atlas; destination tracking follows that service’s rules and choices.
Changing your mind
The footer’s Cookie preferences control is always available. Turning embedded media off reloads the page to remove active provider scripts and players, including those in background directory tabs. You can also clear browser site data. We cannot erase information or cookies already held by another service.
